Asian Pacific Islander Benefit at Design Center

I had the pleasure of photographing the Bloom Gala at the San Francisco Design Center for the Asian and Pacific Islander Wellness Benefit.  It was definitely a successful event with an auction and speakers that ranged from Dr. Sanjay Gupta from CNN, local AIDS awareness spokespeople and politicians Fiona Ma and Phil Ting promoting health in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.  It was a night of great food from Yank Sing, Anzu, Jasmine Gardens, KC Catering, Le Soleil, Mercury Lounge, Patisserie Phillipe, Poleng Lounge and Sukhi’s Gourmet Indian Cuisine.  The entertainment–Good Asian Drivers–was truly unique with a mixture of poems, rap, singing and laughter.

It’s a first for me!

This was one very fine affair and so tres magnific!  The groom is a dashing Frenchmen.  The bride an adorable blonde.  So this was an event definitely about food, wine and fun.  So how do you combine all that?  A lighted tent in the middle of wine country, two barrels of wine, champagne, a Spaniel on the hunt and a lobster feed for all!  Utensils?  Not at this event.  A bucket of wet naps and lobster crackers! It was the first time I photographed people actually eating and I have to say it was quite fun.  It was just a most beautiful day to be sure.  I have to say again…I just have the best couples!

As luck would have it…

I actually had a camera with me on one of those notorious foggy Golden Gate Bridge days!

NACE with Duncan and MB

There was just no way I was going to miss the ahem “wedding” of Duncan Reyes.  With a lot of help NACE put on a beautiful event Wednesday night at the Hotel Whitcomb.  Duncan, Michelle Barrionuevo-Mazzini, Hartman Studios and tons of others did a great job at putting together the event.   Thank you to all!  I sat with the oh so charming Neil Adams of Blueprint Studios and Patrick McMichael of Denon & Doyle…

Yea, Paul Price! World Doubles Squash Winners!

Congrats to Paul Price and his mate Ben Gould for winning the World Championship Squash Doubles on Monday night!  I have to admit I don’t know diddly about squash. Maybe 3 rules out of 3532 but it was an exciting game and there were some wicked swings behind the points.  He’s also a great musician and you can see his stuff at www.paulpricemusic.com. Glad to be there and great to see you again!
